Air Conditioning Receiver Drier Assembly - Repair or Replace
The receiver drier in your A/C system contains a desiccant that protects its metal components as well as acting as a filter to prevent damage to the rest of your system. They also frequently include a pressure switch that signals your A/C compressor to turn on or off. Your 1997 Ford F-150 should get a new receiver drier, or accumulator, any time your air conditioning is undergoing repairs.
